2023-10-22 15:08:43This pastry shop is indeed pricier than their peers. However, they have something unique to offer. The pate is one of a kind. I got the duck one and it is packed with high quality ingredients. The pastry shell around it is also crusty and delicious. The coffee here is also smooth. The open kitchen is cool for us to see how delicate the chefs are. I would love to try something else next time too.
3 months agoMaison Nico is the ultimate spot to indulge in some amazing pastries. Their interior is absolutely cute and gives off this cool French vibe. You've got a few options for seating: cozy indoor spots with a couple of tables for two people, or you can opt for one of the tables outside (definitely more spots there). Sitting outside on Montgomery Street with that lovely street view is a total win. My personal menu favorites are the chocolate choux with avocado cream and the macadamia nuts Paris-Brest. These treats hit the perfect balance of sweetness and richness, and the textures are simply out of this world. Flan and quiches are worth to try as well! All in all, Maison Nico is the go-to place for authentic Paris-style pastries. It's an absolute must-visit if you're craving something sweet and looking for a relaxed hangout with friends.
4 months agoRumor has it Maison Nico has the best croissant in San Francisco, and they won the best croissant in 2023. So the rumor and the news brought me here. We went around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon in July, most of the savory pastry already sold out. &There's a short line in front of us. The pastry place is smaller than I imagined but it's unique and neat. &Love the Parisian decor. We asked the staff to recommend few items for us, so we have some heated savory item at the bakery and also brought back some pate and sweet pastry home. All the recommendations are excellent. We lovvvvve it. From the service to the delicious pastry & the vibe.I read a review saying Maison Nico teleport you back to Paris, it's indeed right. I ordered the tea 梨山烏龍 Lishan OoLong tea (From 台灣 Taiwan) and surprised the tea is from " Red Blossom Tea Company "aka the best tea shop in SF Chinatown who serves Michelin stars restaurant in Paris. It's like double Surprises. Great Taste. Highly recommend it.
3 months agoThe pastries look amazing, there’s such a great and different variety. I got the baguette to take for lunch to dip in my soup I brought from home and very fresh, very inexpensive $2.50. I also bought an almond guava croissant and it was super flaky, with the guava being just right and not too sweet while being very flavorful. Would definitely come back to try some other items
7 months agoI was delighted to enjoy my breakfast outside on their cute pink tables, now that SF is finally warming up. They've got a bunch of different pate options, but my personal favorite is the duck one with pistachio. It has a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, and the pastry surrounding is so crispy.
