Our experience has 9/10 times been excellent! We've been using this hospital on occasion since having children and they're now 17 and 19. Our one son is in college and living away from home but if he wanted to continue using one of the doctors there, he could until 21, which is nice to know. Certainly a different experience than when they have to go over to Christiana care. They may have good doctors there but the children's hospital has always gone the extra mile. Our younger teen has been under the care of the Pediatric Rheumatology Department since 2014, and they have always been well researched, thorough in answers, and respectful to us. I live with the same illness my son inherited, and I feel the doctors always respect MY perspective and experience of living with the autoimmune disorder. They haven't ever tried to talk over us or appear to know everything. I've always felt that there is mutual respect between us. Other positives about the hospital are the valet parking, and that's been helpful whenever I didn't feel well enough walking from the parking area and if my husband wasn't able to accompany us. There's more security at the hospital now I noticed. There's a small coffee bar as you walk into the main entrance and that's convenient. When younger my son used to like us stopping to get popcorn or a cookie when he was finished with his appointment, now it's me wanting a coffee and baked good, lol! Last but not least, I like how the front desk offers directions and assistance to help you find where you need to go. I've felt fortunate to have this hospital in the state and have been willing to make 25-30 minute drive whenever my son has an appointment. *Note: if there's ever been something I was displeased with at times, it was some of the "housekeeping" issues. I know hospitals are busy, but this is where there's so many germs and diseases that the least of my worry should be whether things have been picked up and wiped down!

My 3 year old grandson needed to get a state-mandated lead-testing done. We booked an appointment at the outpatient-lab here at Nemours. We were dreading the blood-test, but Tammy, who took care of us was fantastic! Our little one didn't even notice when she took the venous blood sample. I never thought that this could be done, but Tammy did it. We were so relieved! A great experience from the moment we walked in, and the playtime afterwards on the playground was a bonus!

Came here today to treat my infant son eye infection.. security, dr’s, and nurses were all very kind I was there for about 2 hours and very nice lady who works for the hospital came and read my son a book while we were waiting to be seen :))) he loved it definitely put a smile on his face. Hopefully I don’t need to go to the er again for my son 😂 but if I do I will be coming here! 5 stars!

I have been coming here for about 5 years since my now 7 year old daughter needed certain services. Lately I’ve been coming for my four year old daughter and today when I walked in they had a metal detector and asked if I had pepper spray which I did. So they had me fill out a paper and gave me the bottom piece to remember to pick them up before I leave. The guards were very, VERY friendly. I really appreciated the understanding that I had pepper spray since we live in a scary world these days and they didn’t make me feel bad as some places have in the past. I think these measures are an EXCELLENT idea to further ensure the the safety of our parents but most importantly our children. I’m not sure what the guards names were but I came through on 8/18/23 at 2:45 pm so please tell them thank you for being so kind!

It’s hard to give this place one star cause before this we’ve never had anything but good experiences here. We waited in the waiting room of the ER for almost 7 hours with my 10 month old son who had fallen and hit his head. We took him to a local hospital right after it happened who advised us to bring him back if he passed out or got sick. Well he did both so we decided to make the trip to AI. We told them all this along with talking to his pediatrician. His pediatrician even called the er to tell them he needed to be a priority. But they kept bumping him down the list. Even after their triage nurses acknowledged that he looked worse the second time they evaluated him.
