Searched "Chippy near me" whilst working in the area and found Luke's. The previous 5* reviews are well founded. The shop is spotlessly clean, the service comes with a smile, menu choice and price is good but most importantly, the food I took away was beautiful.

Stockport boy living in the USA. Whenever I get back home and visit my mother in Cheadle, fish n chips are always on the menu. For as long as I can remember I normally go to Whittakers, but I noticed Luke’s is rated slightly higher, so decided to give them a try. Their freshly cooked haddock was excellent. Chips good, but nothing special (nothing wrong with them, just lacked any ‘wow’). Service was by two ‘young’ ladies(girls?) who could benefit from paying a little more attention to their job. I will be back, solely because of the quality of the fish.

This used to be an excellent fish and chip shop, not sure what has happened, my whole meal was tasteless and the fish although freshly cooked was barely warm and it was greasy and soggy. The peas were luke warm and the chips aneamic. They have also reverted back to cash only or Bacs, who pays Bacs for fish and chips!!

The staff here really took care of us after we got off a flight and popped in just before closing. Top rate fish & chips thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family.

Only takes cash now but used to take card wonder why 🤔. Ordered large chips and it was the exact same size regular. The fish was so thin and small my 5 year old ate it all to herself in the past could of shared easily and to top it off it wasn't cheap.
